Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit (41 beds). The role includes medication administration, NG tube care, wound care, and collaboration with RNs, therapists, and physicians to ensure safe, efficient patient recovery. A fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment supports a typical length of stay of about three days.

Sign-on bonus offered. Qualified candidates hold an Illinois LPN license with BLS within 30 days and will join a Magnet-designated health system

Qualifications

• LPN license is required to practice in Illinois (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications, hang IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds.
• Chart assessments on assigned patients after initial RN assessment.
• Chart care plans created by RN and support RN with new plans as needed.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform dressing changes and trach care as needed.
• Insert and care for NG tubes and feedings.
• Care for ostomies and reinforce education and discharge instructions.
• Complete annual education to comply with hip/knee program requirements.
