Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed unit caring for acute and chronic digestive surgical patients with high acuity. The unit emphasizes teamwork with surgical residents and attendings in central Illinois.

As an LPN, you will assist with oral meds, IV piggybacks, wound care, dressings, NG tube management, ostomy care and care-plan documentation after the RN's initial assessment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Illinois (IDFPR)
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• College diploma as LPN

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and hangs IV piggybacks
• Chart assessments after RN completes initial assessment
• Chart care plans opened by RN and assist with new plans
• Communicate with physicians/APPs for orders and care coordination
• Perform dressing changes and trach care as needed
• Insert and care for NG tube and feedings; ostomy care
