Job summary

Grand Lake Health System in Kentucky seeks a flexible RN/LPN for casual employment with 12-hour shifts. This float-capable role supports Med/Surg, Inpatient Psychiatric, Transitional Care, ICU, and ED as needed, under stand-by staffing models.

You will perform nursing assessments, collaborate with physicians, implement and document care, and lead patient/family teaching while participating in discharge planning and ensuring a therapeutic patient relationship.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed RN or LPN; BSN preferred.
• May float to other units per staffing needs.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Job description

• May float to work areas as needed, including Med Surg, Inpatient Psychiatric, Transitional Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and the Emergency Department.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments of patients and document them appropriately in patient records.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health team members in developing a Plan of Care.
• Implement and document clinical and technical Aspects of Care.
• Evaluate the patient's response to the Plan of Care and update the Plan of Care.
• Assume a lead role in Patient/Family teaching.
• Initiate, manage, and participate in the Discharge Planning Process.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with the patient and family.

Requirements

• May be required to work other patient care units or shifts according to the distribution of staff, patients, and/or patient acuity.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.

Education/Certifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed RN or LPN. BSN preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
