Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking dedicated LPN and Medical Assistant candidates to support our pediatric care team in a busy clinic setting. You will work under physicians, PAs, or NPs, assisting with patient prep, vital signs, and coordinating care for clinic visits and procedures.

Responsibilities include triage by phone/in person, phlebotomy, and performing CLIA-waived tests. Arizona LPN license or MA certification is required, with BLS.

Qualifications

  • LPN candidates must graduate from a practical or vocational nursing program.
  • MA candidates must have completed a medical assistant training program or hold an accepted certification.
  • Active Arizona LPN license or compact state license and BLS certification are required for LPNs.

Responsibilities

  • LPN provides professional nursing care under provider direction and State Act.
  • MA assists providers and staff in preparing patients and vital signs.
  • Both roles perform CLIA waived labs and venipuncture as needed, under supervision.

Position Purpose

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Medical Assistants (MA) assist in providing excellent patient care by assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office setting. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician.


Hours/Shift

Full-Time/Days M-F 8:00 a-4:30 p

Key Responsibilities


  • LPN

    • Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.

    • Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.

    • Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.

    • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.

    • May perform venipuncture.



  • MA

    • Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.

    • Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.

    • Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments due Schedules/confirms appointments.

    • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.

    • May perform venipuncture.




Qualifications


  • LPN Candidates

    • Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program

    • High school or Equivalent

    • Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license

    • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification



  • MA Candidates

    • High School or Equivalent

    • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification

    • DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

    • Must meet one of the following criteria:

      • Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following:

        • The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools;



      • If your Medical Assistant program was not accredited by one of the above agencies, you will need to have a Medical Assistant Certification issued by one of the following. If needed, we will assist you in obtaining a CCMA certification.

        • National Healthcareer Association: CCMA

        • American Medical Technologist: RMA

        • American Association of Medical Assistants: AAMA

        • National Center for Competency Testing: NCMA

        • American Medical Certification Association: CMAC



      • Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States






Work Requirements

Able to distinguish appropriate colors, ability to work above or below shoulder level, life to 50 pounds, and walk or be on feet 90% of the day. Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.
