Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo invites applications for a Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN on the Transitional Care Team, based in Waterloo, IA. The role is full-time, day shift, Mon-Fri, 40 hours. You will perform chart preparation, referral coordination, and administrative support for patients in nursing home settings, with occasional visits to facilities.

Prior long-term care and EPIC experience are preferred. Candidates must complete accredited MA or LPN programs; MA certification within a year or LPN

Qualifications

• Must have completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration required within one year of hire.
• Or completed accredited LPN program with LPN license in Iowa.
• Prefers at least 2 years of clinic experience; EPIC experience preferred.

Position: Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN: Transitional Care Team Home

Location: Waterloo, IA

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Day shift, M-F

This position supports MercyOne Waterloo's Transitional Care team and is primarily an office-based role responsible for chart preparation, referral coordination, fax and inbox management, and administrative support for patients receiving care in nursing home settings. Prior long-term care experience is preferred, and occasional visits to nursing home facilities may be required.

Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. This position is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant also coordinates patient flow, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Required

• Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.
• OR
• Must have successfully completed accredited LPN program.
• LPN License in the state of Iowa.

• Prefers at least 2 years experience with Clinic and EPIC experience.
