Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo Family Practice is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and care teams. This full-time role covers 40 hours per week, day shift, Monday through Friday, in Waterloo, IA, with responsibilities from patient prep to vital signs and documentation.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited Medical Assistant program; MA certification/registration is preferred before hire and required within one year. LPN pathway is also accepted with Iowa license.

Qualifications

• Must have completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration required within 1 year.
• OR must have completed accredited LPN program.
• LPN License in the state of Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care.
• Perform patient preparation and vital sign collection.
• Document and maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform basic clinical procedures as directed.
• Coordinate patient flow and ensure a positive patient experience.

Position: Medical Assistant (MA): Waterloo Family Practice

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Day shift, M-F

Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. This position is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant also coordinates patient flow, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

• Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.
• OR
• Must have successfully completed accredited LPN program.
• LPN License in the state of Iowa.
