Job summary

MercyOne Waterloo is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for urgent care in Waterloo, IA. This is a full-time position with a 12-hour day shift, 32 hours per week and includes weekends and holidays.

The MA/LPN will support physicians and providers by preparing patients, collecting vital signs, documenting, and performing basic clinical procedures. Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow, maintaining medical records, and ensuring a positive patient

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.
• OR
• Must have successfully completed accredited LPN program.
• LPN License in the state of Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing administrative and clinical tasks.
• Assists physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures.
• Coordinates patient flow, maintains accurate medical records, and ensures a positive patient experience.

Education

Accredited Medical Assistant program

MA Certification/Registration (preferred, within 1 year)

Accredited LPN program

LPN License in Iowa
