Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN nursing program with active state license.
• CPR certification.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate CNAs and junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Documents the resident’s condition and nursing needs.
• Implements physicians’ orders accurately and promptly.
• Assigns nursing care to team members based on needs and capabilities.
• Supervises, directs, and evaluates junior staff and CNAs.
• Administers medications and treatments and documents per policy and regulations.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are maintained safely.
• Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents.
• Coordinates nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
• Interviews applicants and participates in hiring and disciplinary actions as allowed by state act.
• Supervises nursing unit, including scheduling and directing staff.
• Maintains inventory and communicates needs for housekeeping, maintenance, or dietary assistance.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
