Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Minimum one year clinic experience (preferred).
• Have and maintain current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, assesses patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions in Health Care Unit and housing units, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed.
• Implements treatment programs and administers medications, including IV therapy (if certified), and performs diagnostic tests.
• Assists in controlled substance counts at the beginning of each shift, adheres to safety techniques and standard precautions while responding to codes or health emergencies.
• Documents nursing encounters using SOAP charting and communicates effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other personnel.
• Attends mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, showing commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to policies.

Education
