Job summary

Resthaven is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, resident-centered care during overnight shifts. You will support health and well‑being by following individualized care plans and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Shifts include 11:00 PM–7:30 AM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with FT, PT, and PRN opportunities. Ideal candidates have an active Michigan LPN license and experience in long-term care; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan LPN license active and in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Ongoing education and professional development encouraged.
• Experience in long-term care or senior care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per resident care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor health status: vitals, skin integrity, wounds.
• Observe changes and communicate concerns promptly to the team.
• Carry out physician orders accurately within required timeframes.
• Maintain complete electronic health records and documentation.
• Follow infection control practices and regulations.
• Respond to urgent care situations with clinical judgment.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, and care teams.
• Support and delegate to CNAs and clinical staff; promote teamwork.
• Provide shift reports to ensure continuity and coverage.
• Float between units based on resident needs.

Resthaven is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization serving older adults since 1945. We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, resident-centered care during overnight shifts. The LPN supports residents’ health and well-being by following individualized care plans, communicating with residents and families, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Available schedules include 11:00 PM–7:30 AM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with individualized resident care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, and support pain management.
• Monitor resident health, including vital signs, skin integrity, and wound care.
• Observe and document changes in residents’ conditions, and promptly communicate concerns.
• Carry out physician orders accurately and within required timeframes.
• Maintain complete and accurate electronic health records and clinical documentation.
• Follow infection control practices and applicable state and federal healthcare regulations.
• Respond to urgent and emergent care situations using sound clinical judgment.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Support and delegate to CNA and clinical support staff while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Provide shift reports that support continuity of care and assist with unit coverage as needed.
• Float between units based on resident care and operational needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current, active Michigan Board of Nursing licensure as an LPN.
• Previous nursing experience preferred, particularly in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or senior care.
• Experience working with older adults preferred.
• Maintain active licensure and required continuing education, and participate in ongoing professional development and in-service training.
