Job summary

Resthaven, a faith-based not-for-profit in Michigan, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct care and implement individualized care plans for our aging residents. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure compassionate, resident-centered care.

We offer a $15,000 sign-on for full-time and $7,500 for part-time, 8- or 12-hour shifts, tuition reimbursement, and a clinic on site. A supportive, mission-driven culture awaits you.

Qualifications

• Current, active Michigan Board of Nursing license (LPN or RN).
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred.
• Successful completion of State Board licensure examination (NCLEX or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and implement resident care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely.
• Monitor health status, vital signs, skin integrity, and wound care.
• Observe, assess, and promptly report changes in resident condition.
• Execute physician orders accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation.
• Ensure infection control and regulatory compliance.
• Communicate clearly with residents, families, physicians, and care teams.
• Lead and support CNA and staff, fostering teamwork.
• Assist with staffing coverage and unit support as needed.
• Deliver shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
• Float between units based on needs.

Essential Responsibilities - LPN/RN (Licensed Practical Nurse / Registered Nurse)

• Provide direct nursing care and implement individualized resident care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and pain management interventions safely and accurately
• Monitor resident health status, including assessments, skin integrity, wound care, and vital signs
• Observe, assess, document, and promptly report changes in resident condition
• Execute physician orders accurately and within required timeframes
• Maintain accurate electronic health record (EHR) documentation and clinical charting
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and all State and Federal healthcare regulations
• Respond effectively to urgent and emergent resident care situations using sound clinical judgment
• Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Lead, delegate, and support CNA and clinical support staff while fostering teamwork and accountability
• Assist with staffing coverage and provide unit support as needed
• Deliver comprehensive shift reports to ensure continuity of care
• Provide exceptional resident-centered customer service by exceeding resident and family expectations
• Float between units based on operational and resident care needs

Education, Training, Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) or nursing program
• Successful completion of State Board of Nursing licensure examination
• Previous LPN/RN nursing experience preferred, ideally in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or senior care.
• Experience working with geriatric or elderly populations preferred
• Must maintain all continuing education requirements to keep nursing licensure active and in good standing
• Participates in ongoing learning, professional development, and required in-service training

Required Licenses, Registration, and/or Certifications

• Current, active Michigan Board of Nursing License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
