Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The role involves preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, assisting with minor procedures, and coordinating referrals and scheduling.

The successful candidate will have completed an approved MA training program, hold active MA certification, and maintain BLS certification. Proficiency with EMR/scheduling software and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Various MA certifications accepted (AMT/AAMA/NHA/NCCT) with proof of current membership.
• Strong computer skills with medical software familiarity.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintenance.
• Arizona Criminal History Affidavit signed on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment; records vitals and chief complaint; reports changes to clinician.
• Assists providers with exams and minor procedures; handles phlebotomy, EKGs, and related tasks.
• Coordinates patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, and scheduling; communicates test results.
• Provides clerical support; ensures complete medical records and accurate billing information.
