Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in a busy clinic. The role involves rooming patients, transcribing orders, handling phone messages, and assisting with minor wound care and procedures.

The position supports patient care and flow under providers, with duties including vital signs, phlebotomy, and documentation. Active MA certification and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. BLS certification is required.
• Requires strong computer skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs and other measurements.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinates pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling.
• Provides clerical support and maintains medical records and billing information.
• Maintains a clean and sterile environment and ensures proper handling of hazardous substances.
• Orders supplies and supports medication management and recalls as directed.
• Develops effective communication with patients and external/internal customers.
• Completes onboarding/orientation activities as directed.
• Works under the supervision of providers and interacts with staff across departments.
