HealthPartners is hiring for a LPN/Medical Assistant/EMT working in the Family Practice department out of our Minneapolis Clinic

Qualifications for the LPN position include:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current LPN licensure in Minnesota.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross; online certification is not accepted. Must be maintained.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proper use of English grammar and spelling.
- One year of experience as an LPN is preferred.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant position include:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR EMT program with current EMT license.
- Current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross; online certification is not accepted. Must be maintained.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proper use of English grammar and spelling.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through AAMA or AMT is preferred.
Responsibilities for the LPN position include:
- Identify common nursing needs of patients.
- Perform routine office procedures and testing in an ambulatory care setting.
- Assist patients in achieving health care goals.
- Identify patient education needs, provide instruction, and refer appropriately.
- Document observations, actions, and patient outcomes.
- Provide safe, accurate, and competent direct patient care.
- Recognize urgent problems and seek assistance.
- Obtain health history and vital signs; report variances.
- Teach techniques and provide information as per established programs.
- Document procedures and treatments accurately.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Inform patients and families about procedures and care.
- Perform telephone screenings under RN or MD direction.
- Protect patient privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
- Maintain current practice through continuing education.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Contribute to improving LPN practice standards.
- Serve as a role model and support staff.
- Solve problems appropriately with team assistance.
- Use interpersonal skills to foster positive responses from patients and staff.
Responsibilities for the Medical Assistant position include:
- Room patients and record vital signs and measurements.
- Administer medications and procedures according to policy, including DISCUS or AIMS assessments.
- Review charts for relevant information for appointments.
- Provide and document health education materials.
- Handle patient records confidentially.
- Seek medical or nursing assistance for acute or changing conditions.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms and assist providers.
- Prepare patients for interventions and charts for visits.
- Check and route MSRs appropriately.
- Prepare lab, x-ray, and other forms as needed.
- Process drug refills per protocols.
- Monitor station logs.
- Ensure smooth communication within the clinic.
- Relay messages and test results accurately.
- Gather information from callers for follow-up.
- Assist with schedule coordination and urgent care needs.
- Assist with patient correspondence and forms completion.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment per OSHA standards.
- Complete cleaning and infection control procedures.
- Manage clinic supplies, check expiration dates, and organize inventory.
- Maintain prescription sample supplies.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration.
