Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time night shifts 7pm-7am in the 3 West, Med Surg department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. This role provides direct patient care under RN/physician direction.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient assessment, lab tests, and patient education on discharge planning. Eligible benefits include generous PTO, parental leave, AAP, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

• Contribute to the assessment of patients and assure the well-being of patients.
• Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Education

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent required.
