Job summary

Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan, an 81-bed facility, seeks an LPN/LVN to provide direct patient care under RN and House Supervisor. You’ll follow treatment plans, maintain a safe milieu, assist with behavior management, admissions and discharges, and document meds and procedures per policy.

Nights - three 12-hour shifts weekly, 7:00pm–7:30am. Cedar Creek offers comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, PTO, disability and life insurance) and a $3K sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in general nursing care.
• Current LPN Licensure in Michigan.
• CPR/HWC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care per nursing plans and treatment plans.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu with an interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint under RN supervision.
• Assist RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administer medications, document administration and monitor effects.

Description

Licensed Practical Nurses carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor:

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient's treatment plan.
• Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Assists RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medication and treatments to patients. Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications. Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.
