Job summary

Cedar Creek Hospital in Michigan is seeking an LPN/LVN to join our 81-bed facility delivering evidence-based treatment to adolescents and adults with mental health issues.

Candidates will provide direct patient care under supervision, administer medications, and assist with admissions/discharges within a structured, therapeutic milieu. A sign-on bonus is offered and shifts are three 12-hour days weekly.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Current LPN licensure in Michigan.
• CPR/HWC certification required.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in general nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and treatment plans.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint under RN direction.
• Assists with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medications and treatments; documents administration per policies.

Description

Licensed Practical Nurses carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor:

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan.
• Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Assists RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medication and treatments to patients. Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications. Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.

Hours

Days - Three 12 hour shifts per week, 7:00am-7:30pm
