Cedar Creek Hospital in Michigan is a state-of-the-art 81-bed facility providing evidence-based treatment for adolescents and adults with mental health issues. We are seeking qualified LPN/LVN applicants to join our team and contribute to an integrated medicine approach that includes yoga, mindfulness, aromatherapy, and nutrition.

Licensed Practical Nurses carry out daily patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor, ensuring safety and therapeutic milieu, and

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice; prior psychiatric clinical experience desired.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in providing general nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and patient treatment plan.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu with staff.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint under RN direction.
• Assists with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medications and treatments, educates about meds, and documents administration.

Description

Licensed Practical Nurses carry out the daily routines of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and House Supervisor:

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan.
• Participates with other personnel in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint, under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Assists RN with patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medication and treatments to patients. Assists with medication education, informed consent and monitoring the effectiveness and efficacy of medications. Documents the administration of medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.

Hours

Nights - Three 12 hour shifts per week, 7:00pm-7:30am

Qualifications

Job Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory, and practice, with previous psychiatric clinical experience desired.
• Demonstrated clinical competency in providing general nursing care.
• Current LPN Licensure in the state of Michigan.
• CPR/HWC certification required.
