Job summary

Universal Health Services in Raleigh, NC, seeks an LPN to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse and physician. You will assist in medical management and patient reassessment within a psychiatric treatment team.

The role includesAdmissions and discharges under RN guidance, environmental safety, crisis management, and support of MHTs, with attention to accurate documentation and timely care plan updates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
• One year inpatient psychiatric experience or healthcare environment with adults, adolescents and/or children preferred.
• New grads welcome.
• Current North Carolina Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Current North Carolina Driver’s License.
• CPR Certification.
• CPI Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide and assist in direct patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse (RN) as prescribed by the physician and the treatment team.
• Provide medical management and re-assessment of patients.
• Assist RN with environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population.
• Assist RN with Admissions to the Unit as well as Discharging patients from the units under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Supervise MHTs as directed by RN.
• Document patient care, ensure that data is accurate and included in the BMP and master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates.
• Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu.

Education/Training:
