Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking leadership to direct nursing care for patients in a psychiatric/rehabilitative setting. You will oversee Lead Mental Health Technicians, Mental Health Technicians and Nurses to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role requires a nursing degree, NC RN licensure, and 3+ years of supervisory experience, with preference for psychiatric/mental health expertise and strong policy implementation skills.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • At least 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric, mental health, and/or rehabilitation nursing.
  • At least 3 years supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License
  • Current North Carolina Driver’s License
  • Current CPR Certification
  • CPI Certification
  • Knowledge of psychiatric, medical, and rehabilitative procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable State and federal regulations and JCAHO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and is directly responsible to the ADON/DON for quality patient care.
  • Responsible for the day to day operations of Lead Mental Health Technicians, Mental Health Technicians and Nurses to enhance the quality of patient care.
  • Provides sufficient staffing and schedules personnel according to census and acuity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Associate of Nursing required; BSN preferred
Experience:
  • At least 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in psychiatric, mental health, and/or rehabilitation nursing.
  • At least 3 years supervisory/management experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
  • Current North Carolina State Registered Nurse License

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Management skills with the ability to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Able to develop and implement policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
  • Knowledge of milieu management.
  • Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
  • Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
  • Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures.
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
