Job summary

MercyOne Centerville Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for part-time evening coverage (2pm-10:30pm) to provide patient-centered nursing care in a rural community setting.

You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, ensuring resident safety and well-being while following physician orders and hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Iowa required
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (AHA) required
• Dependent Adult Mandatory reporter training within 30 days of hire and recertification every 5 years
• License renewal education requirements must be met

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Carry out physician orders within nursing practice guidelines.
• Supervise activities within scope of practice and seek assistance when needed.
• Provide leadership in supervision of others in the nursing process.
• Reassess patient status and modify care plan accordingly.
• Follow physician regimen and nursing protocols.
• Supervise tasks requiring RN level of expertise and escalate as needed.

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for assigned patients. Registered nurses provide nursing services to assure resident safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well -being of each resident, as determined by resident assessment and implementing plan of care.

ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1.Utilize nursing process which includes patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of nursing care, implementing interventions, and evaluation of patient status in relationship to above
• 2.Executes regimen prescribed by physician within guidelines of nursing practice
• 3.Performs and/or supervises activities/functions which require knowledge and skill level currently ascribed to the licensed practical nurse and seeks assistance when these are beyond scope of preparation
• 4.Provides leadership and direction in the supervision of others in carrying out the nursing process

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Licensure and Certifications Current RN license in State of Iowa, Current basic Life Support for Healthcare providers from American heart Association Dependent Adult Mandatory reporter training 30 days upon hire and recertification every 5 years. Obtains education requires for license renewal

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Works to promote a positive atmosphere in LTC
• Provides direct care to the residents (feeding, bathing, dressing, ambulation, stock supply room, pass water .linens etc.)
• Communicate changes in resident's condition to appropriate members of the health care team
• Follow universal precautions for infection control
• Correctly using mechanical devices for moving ,lifting and transferring residents to promote safety
