Job summary

MercyOne Centerville Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct care for residents in a 25-bed rural hospital setting. The role emphasizes nursing process, safety, and compassionate patient-centered care in a rotating shift environment.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Iowa.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association.
• Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter training within 30 days upon hire and recertification every 5 years.
• Education requirements for license renewal.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing process including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of nursing care, implementing interventions, and evaluation of patient status.
• Executes regimen prescribed by physician within guidelines of nursing practice.
• Performs and/or supervises activities/functions within the licensed practical nurse scope and seeks assistance when beyond scope.
• Provides leadership and direction in the supervision of others in carrying out the nursing process.
• Utilize nursing process which includes patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning of care, implementing interventions.
• Executes regimen prescribed by physician within guidelines of nursing practice.
• Performs and/or supervises activities/functions within the registered nurse scope and seeks assistance when beyond scope.
• Provides leadership and direction in the supervision of others in carrying out the nursing process.

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE

Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for assigned patients. Registered nurses provide nursing services to assure resident safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well –being of each resident, as determined by resident assessment and implementing plan of care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Licensure and Certifications Current RN license in State of Iowa, Current basic Life Support for Healthcare providers from American heart Association Dependent Adult Mandatory reporter training 30 days upon hire and recertification every 5 years. Obtains education requires for license renewal

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Works to promote a positive atmosphere in LTC
• Provides direct care to the residents (feeding, bathing, dressing, ambulation, stock supply room, pass water .linens etc.)
• Communicate changes in resident’s condition to appropriate members of the health care team
• Follow universal precautions for infection control
• Correctly using mechanical devices for moving ,lifting and transferring residents to promote safety
