Job Summary

Geisinger is offering a full‑time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC). The role includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates and opportunities to pursue RN certification with support up to $40,000.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute data to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Promote adaptive responses of patients/families to achieve the highest level of patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Provide compassionate care during patient‑nurse interactions.
  • Coordinate patient care and interaction of staff.
  • Meet qualifications for care of patients in assigned unit.
  • Contribute data to assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
  • Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families.
  • Reinforce patient and family education, needs, and discharge planning.
  • Provide direct nurse care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies per policy.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based on patient response.
  • Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members to resolve and facilitate patient needs.
  • Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding evidence‑based practice.
  • Provide input to manager for performance appraisals of care‑delivery team members.
  • Precept and mentor new staff and students as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Graduate from a Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (required).

Licensure/Certification: Licensed Practical Nurse (required); Basic Life Support Certification (required).

Skills: Communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, teamwork.

Work Schedule

Hours: 7am – 7:30pm, every other weekend and holiday.

Shift: Days (United States of America).

Scheduled weekly hours: 36.
