Job summary

Geisinger is looking for a Full-time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the Geisinger Community Medical Center in Pennsylvania. The role includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $40,000 financial support for RN transition.

Job Summary

Full‑time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) offering a $10,000 sign‑on bonus and up to $40,000 financial support to become an RN.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute data to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Promote adaptive responses of patient/family to achieve the highest level of care, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Exhibit compassionate care during patient‑nurse interactions.
  • Coordinate patient care and interaction of staff.
  • Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies as per policy and procedure.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based on patient response.
  • Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members to resolve patient needs.
  • Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding evidence‑based practice.
  • Precept and mentor new staff and students.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from a Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (required).
  • Licensed Practical Nurse license (default issuing body).
  • Basic Life Support Certification (default issuing body).
  • Cardiac experience preferred; willingness to learn and grow in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical unit.
  • Strong interest in intermediate nursing care.
  • Excellent communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
