Job Summary

Geisinger offers a full‑time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position with a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates and up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN, plus marketing‑leading hiring rates and up to $5 shift differentials for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Job Duties

• Contribute data to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Promote adaptive responses of patient/family to achieve highest level of care, safety and patient satisfaction.
• Show compassionate care during patient‑nurse interactions.
• Coordinate patient care and interaction among staff.
• Meet qualifications to provide care for patients in assigned unit.
• Provide direct patient care including treatments, medications and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
• Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based on patient response.
• Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel and other interdisciplinary team members to proactively resolve patient needs.
• Participate in unit‑based decision‑making regarding evidence‑based practice.
• Provide input to manager for performance appraisals of care delivery team members.
• Precept and mentor new staff and students in a professional, positive manner.
• Accountable for satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures.
