Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join our full-time home health team in the United States. This day-shift role offers competitive pay and the flexibility to help patients heal at home.

You'll verify plans of care with RNs, collaborate with physicians, teach patients and caregivers, monitor vital signs, reconcile medications, and perform procedures ordered by physicians. A current LPN license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN frequently to ensure patient needs are met; notify if condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review medications and perform a medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (e.g. foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
