Job summary

Amedisys is hiring a licensed practical nurse to join our home health team in Lincoln, Nebraska. This full-time, days-shift role offers meaningful patient care in the comfort of patients' homes.

Responsibilities include verifying plans of care with the RN, collaborating with physicians, teaching patients and caregivers, and performing routine nursing tasks with accurate documentation. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license in the state you work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN to ensure patient needs are met; Notify them as soon as possible when patient condition changes.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review all medications and perform a medication reconciliation at each visit.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (i.e. foley catheter change).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using the aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
