Job summary

Bethany Center For Rehabilitation and Healing in Smyrna, TN is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The successful candidate will evaluate and treat residents independently, perform bedside therapies, and participate in quarterly in-services and IDT meetings.

Requirements include graduation from a COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program, licensure as an RRT or CRT in the practice state, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required
• Described in the Departmental Policy and procedure Manual in these areas of skilled interventions: Oxygen weaning therapy; Omniflow – Biofeed back; Group respiratory therapy; Standardized respiratory testing; Aerosol therapy; IPPB therapy; Incentive Spirometry; Chest physiotherapy; Deep breathing and coughing; Bronchial hygiene therapy; PEP therapy; Postal Drainage; Positioning; Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning; Airway clearance/management techniques; Trachea-bronchial suctioning; Tracheostomy care; Spirometry Bedside Testing; CPAP/BIPAP; High-Flow Oxygen; Cardiac Program; Pulmonary Program; Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday
