Qualifications

  • General knowledge of psychosocial and physical problems of geriatric population.

  • Continuously assess and report resident’s conditions, contribute to resident care plans.
  • Administer medications and perform professional nursing duties as required.

Friendship Village of Dublin is now looking for RNs to work in our State‑of‑the‑art Health Center! .

  • Take and transcribe physicians’ orders, send out telephone order slips, if applicable, uses the pharmacy fax machine to order medications.
  • Assist with orientation, teaching and supervision of nursing personnel; report all concerns and accomplishments to DON.
  • May participate in employee performance evaluations, report concerns to DON and make recommendations to the DON concerning employee counseling, etc.
  • Continuously assess resident’s conditions and needs; report observations to DON. Contribute toward development of resident care plans, utilizing all knowledge of restorative and rehabilitative nursing principles.
  • Admit and orient new residents; follow complete admission procedures.
  • Ensure that only trained and authorized personnel operate your unit/shifts equipment.
  • Maintain resident charts, performs charting duties, keeps narcotic counts and medication records, and counts controlled substances with on‑coming shift nurse.
  • Complete forms for transfer and discharge.
  • Perform or delegate and supervise all care for assigned residents.
  • Administer medications; perform other professional nursing duties as required. These may include administering enemas, tube feeding and G‑tubes, glucometer readings, catheterization, suctioning, administering of intravenous fluids, treatments involving sterile technique dressings, catheter irrigations, isolation technique, setting up oxygen, performing CPR, caring for terminal and deceased residents.
  • Administer emergency care, notify physician and family or residents representative, of condition change or emergency and render follow‑up care according to physicians’ orders.
  • Respond immediately to resident's emergency call system, including for independent living residents) and take appropriate action; document all such occurrences.
  • Accompany and assist physician with examinations, follow Care Plan, administer medications, stop orders, orders needed, order medications from pharmacy, notify physician of any unusual or abnormal observations.
  • Perform restorative and rehabilitative nursing for residents by teaching self‑help and independence in activities of daily living according to the residents care plan. May help prepare residents for discharge.

Qualifications:

  • A desire to make a difference!
  • Willingness to grow!
  • Currently licensed to practice nursing in Ohio (LPN).
  • Valid CPR
  • At least six (6) months experience in medical or surgical nursing, preferably with geriatric patients; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of the psychosocial and physical problems of the geriatric population required.
  • Ability to teach, supervise and motivate nursing staff to ensure appropriate care and rehabilitation.
  • Must have the ability to follow written and/or oral instructions and understand concepts of measurements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
  • 1:1 staff to patient ratios in resident apartments in a place where you are valued and celebrated!
