Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is seeking an LPN for our general medicine unit on a 2x12s daytime schedule. The role involves patient evaluation, education, medication administration, IV therapy, and collaboration with RN and providers in a high-volume environment.

The unit houses 24 beds with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, handling diverse cases including heart and kidney conditions, diabetes, infections and perioperative care support. Join a team focused on growth and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Nursing School Graduate.
• Current nursing license in the State of Alabama.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
• Experience - None.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit specific requisite skills.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures.
• Documents patient data, and patient education according to Baptist Health and department specific guidelines.
• Able to perform triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining next step in care, working in collaboration as directed by the department nursing team or provider(s).
• Appropriately administer oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider.
• Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patient and family.
