Job summary

Southcoast Health, a not-for-profit health system serving southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, is seeking a licensed practical nurse for its LPN Float Pool. This per diem role covers day shifts with travel to SPG Primary Care sites as needed.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient and family teaching, rooming, and use of an EHR to update information. LPN licensure in MA/RI and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing or equivalent.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is desirable.
• Six months or more experience in related setting preferred.
• Current LPN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties involving direct patient care, such as medication administration, patient and family teaching, rooming, and procedures.
• Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic or medical office.
• May supervise telephone communication with patients and share test results, scheduling, and follow-up as directed.
• Utilize an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related software to update or access patient information.
• Travel to SPG Primary Care sites to cover staffing shortages as needed.
