Southcoast Health is seeking an LPN for our Float Pool at the Primary Care site in Portsmouth, RI. The position offers 40 hours per week with day shifts (8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pm) and includes a $5,000 new hire sign-on bonus for this position.
Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, and patient/family teaching, with travel to SPG Primary Care sites as needed to cover staffing gaps. EHR usage and adherence to policies are required.

Position reports to the Director of Clinical Operations/designee. Perform a variety of duties involving direct patient care, such as medication administration, patient and family teaching, rooming, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and within the scope of practical nursing. Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic or medical office. May be responsible for telephone communication with patients including communication of test results, surgery schedules, procedures and providing appropriate counsel and follow-up under the direction of a designated supervisor. Utilize an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other related software to update or access patient information as appropriate. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served. Position requires nurse to travel to SPG Primary Care sites where there may be a staffing shortage, ensuring patient care is delivered safely and appropriately.
