Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess current unencumbered RN or LPN license in IL and/or WI.
• Must possess CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Must read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with customers, family, and public.
• Must possess leadership and supervisory ability.
• Must be personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to customers.
• Supervise nursing assistants daily.
• Develop and implement care plans for customers.
• Directly supervise and instruct Alden staff on topics to promote knowledge.
• Ensure department policies and dress code are followed.
• Assist in developing written care plans for customers.
• Attend care plan conferences and report concerns to Administrator.
• Counsel/discipline nursing personnel as needed.
• Perform daily rounds to ensure duties are performed and procedures followed.
• Maintain warmth and calm atmosphere throughout the department.
• Attend continuing education programs.
• Place medication and treatment orders as necessary per budget.
• Chart nursing notes and admissions/discharges/transfers.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with physicians.
