Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the direct care healthcare team. You will provide care under the direction of the registered nurse, perform general nursing tasks, prepare equipment, and assist with examinations and testing.

You will collect patient data, document changes, and support diagnosis with test orders and test result review. The role includes scheduling procedures, obtaining approvals, and performing basic medical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have High School or GED.
• Licensed Practical Nurse or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• 1 year in healthcare preferred.
• PALS or ACLS preferred.
• State approved IV course certification preferred.
• Knowledge of EPIC documentation and assessment process.
• CPR - American Heart Association required.
• Act 34/33/73 background clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
• Assists with preparation of equipment and supports the clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Collects assessments, prepares patients for examination, documents clinical information, and reports changes to the RN/physician.
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed by the clinician and reviews results prior to assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations under RN supervision; assists with basic medical tasks including administering medications and collecting specimens.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
