Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an LPN to join the direct care healthcare team. The role provides care to patients and families under RN direction, performing nursing tasks within LPN scope and assisting with treatments and exams.

Responsibilities include data collection, documenting patient information, preparing patients for procedures, and coordinating tests and authorizations as directed by supervisors. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or current multi-state licensure through eNLC is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care within the LPN scope (30%).
• Assists with preparation of equipment and assists the clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing (20%).
• Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information in the patient record; reports changes to the RN/APN/physician (20%).
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed and gathers/examines results prior to physician assessment (20%).
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations under RN direction; assists staff with basic tasks such as administering meds, blood/tissue collection, and specimen prep (20%).
• Other duties as assigned or requested (10%).
