Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, is seeking an LPN to provide quality nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician. The role involves assisting with treatments, preparing equipment, collecting assessments, and coordinating tests.

The position requires an LPN licensure (or eNLC). Additional duties include scheduling procedures, patient prep, and potential administration of injections or medications in accordance with standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current state LPN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care in accordance with nursing practice standards.
• Assists with preparation of equipment and assists the physician/clinical provider during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
• Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information on patient record.
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed by RN or physician/clinical provider and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations as necessary.
• May give injections or medication, collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, and prepare them for testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Education

High school diploma/GED or equivalent
