Job summary

Veterans Health Administration at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center is seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse to perform assigned duties within the Nursing Service, promoting quality health care and exceptional patient service.

Responsibilities include administering medications, observing patient responses, and collaborating with RNs and physicians. The role requires flexibility in schedule, including days, weekends, and holidays, and adherence to VA policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency.
• National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) accreditation or military nursing training accepted for qualification.
• Current LPN/LVN license in the applicable jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Nursing Service at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications and document patient responses.
• Observe for changes in patient condition and report deviations to the RN or MD/DO.
• Foster respectful relationships with patients and families to promote quality care and communication.
