Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Virginia Beach Correctional Center in Virginia Beach, VA. This full-time, day-shift role involves delivering nursing care within the LPN scope of practice and coordinating with the medical team to ensure offender health needs are met.

The ideal candidate has an LPN license in Virginia, CPR certification, and a commitment to compassionate care.

Qualifications

Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
Currently licensed as an LPN in the state of Virginia.
Possesses an active CPR certification.
Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

Utilizes a systematic approach to meet the health needs of each patient.
Provides nursing care within the LPN scope of practice and follows applicable laws.
Contributes to teaching plans based on patient needs focusing on health promotion, maintenance, and restoration.
Cares for wounds with cleaning and dressing/bandaging.
Administers medications to offenders.
Monitors vital signs and reports changes to medical staff.
Documents actions in the MAR and medical records.
Performs other nursing duties as assigned by facility.
