Job summary

Arizona Department of Veterans Services (AZDVS) seeks compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for the Arizona State Veterans Home in Yuma. 12-hour day shifts (6:00 a.m.

– 6:30 p.m.), every other weekend off, with a potential $5,000 hiring incentive and weekend shift supplemental pay. Responsibilities include administering medications, implementing care plans, and coordinating with a supportive interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality veteran care.

Qualifications

• Current or temporary license to practice as an LPN in the State of Arizona
• Current TB test within the last twelve months or a physician's statement indicating freedom from TB
• Must obtain and retain a fingerprint clearance card
• Current CPR card obtained by physical assessment
• May be required to have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician within the scope of license
• Observe and report effectiveness of medications and treatments
• Ensure supplies and medications are available
• Provide direct resident care and communicate with the inter-disciplinary team
• Develop and participate in care plans and MDS processes
• Train or orient new employees
• Perform technical duties as assigned (e.g., collect specimens, respond to emergencies)
