Job summary

HAN Staff is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a Midland, Texas assignment. The role offers a day shift Thursday, Friday and Saturday on a W2 basis with local pay of $45.00/hour.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and EMR documentation within a correctional healthcare setting. Requires Texas LPN license and recent clinical experience, with applicable certifications.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Texas (or eligible)
• Minimum 1 year LPN experience within last 3 years
• Current PSV or licensing verification as required
• BLS, N95 fit test, immunizations, TB test current

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN/physician supervision
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Monitor and record vital signs, report changes
• Assist with assessments and care plan implementation
• Perform wound care and specimen collection
• Document care in EMR accurately

Shift Details:

• Day shift- Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted Texas license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a LPN within the last 3 years.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,...).
