Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is seeking an LPN for a PRN Day Shift in Smith County, TN. You will provide nursing care under supervision, in a correctional environment, and document care and patient status.

The role requires an LPN license, CPR, and at least one year of clinical experience; on-site work with benefits and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• LPN license, CPR certification and one year clinical experience are required.
• Accredited vocational/technical school completion is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond and intervene to all emergency situations.
• Conduct patient intake paperwork.
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication.
• Conduct Sick Call clinic.
• Order / maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy.
• Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations.
• Document all patient information and nursing care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel.

Description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Site Administrator/Coordinator, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to patients within a correctional environment. The LPN delivers nursing care as directed by the Physician within the scope of the State Board of Nursing Practice for the LPN.

Pay Rate: $25/hr

• Respond and intervein to all emergency situations
• Conduct Patient Intake paperwork
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication
• Conduct Sick Call clinic
• Order / maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy
• Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations
• Complete and document ordered treatments, patient care, and collection ordered labs
• Assist provider with Chronic Care Clinic and Provider sick call visit
• Monitor for, report and document changes in patient's condition
• Accurately document all patient information, nursing care and interventions
• Ensure daily nursing task are completed within prescribed timeframe.
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of an Accredited Vocational/Technical School
• Current and valid LPN or LVN license
• Current CPR
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a health care setting as anLPN.
• One year of experience in a correctional health care setting is preferred.
