Job summary

HAN Staff in Columbia, SC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team delivering patient care in a correctional healthcare setting. The role offers local pay and the opportunity to work in a professional, secure facility.

The LPN will administer medications, monitor vital signs, document in the EMR, and assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Current, valid SC license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an LPN.
• Copy of Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.
