Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group in Lumberton, NC is seeking a dedicated Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will work 36 hours per week with a daytime schedule, contributing to plan of care and discharge planning while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must be licensed in North Carolina as an LPN, hold BLS, and have graduated from an accredited practical nursing program.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education.
• Licensed to practice as an Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of North Carolina; BLS.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development and maintenance of a current, individualized, goal‑oriented plan of care and consults with other health professionals to assure that the assessed needs of patient/caregiver are met.
• Observes, assesses, documents, and reports patient response to treatments/therapies and teaching, and adjusts priorities of care according to patient/caregiver needs.
• Participates in unit, service, and/or department enrichment activities which contribute to positive outcomes such as assigned committees, CQI activities/groups, and the orientation and education of other personnel.
• Provides a broad range of treatments/therapies to patients including respiratory treatments, suctioning, and tracheostomy care, administration of medications, observation of monitors, and reporting of changes.
• Provides assistance to patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provides support to patients and families; de-escalates frightened or potentially aggressive patients and facilitates coping strategies.
