Job summary

UNC Health Medical Group in Mebane, NC seeks a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings, following the plan of care, physician orders, and nursing policies. Care spans neonate to geriatric, with day shift and onsite work.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Practical Nurse program, NC LPN licensure with BLS, and at least two years of LPN experience.

• Graduation from a state accredited program of practical nurse education.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the development and maintenance of a current, individualized, goal-oriented plan of care and consults with other health professionals to assure that the assessed needs of patient/caregiver are met.
• Observes, assesses, documents, and reports patient response to treatments/therapies and teaching, and adjusts priorities of care according to patient/caregiver needs.
• Collects, documents, and reports data regarding biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning needs.
• Participates in unit, service, and/or department enrichment activities which contribute to positive outcomes such as committees, CQI activities, and education of personnel.
• Provides a broad range of treatments/therapies to patients including respiratory treatments, suctioning, IV monitoring, and patient/caregiver teaching as per plan.
