Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts seeks an LPN to support outpatient practice operations, including phlebotomy, vital signs, and patient care coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience.
• Six months of experience as an LPN preferred.
• Outpatient or physician office setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for patient visits by reviewing schedules and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and clean.
• Escort patients to rooms, document interviews, and assist with mobility as needed.
• Take and record vital signs, alert providers of abnormal findings.
• Assist providers during exams and help maintain schedule flow.
• Perform procedures such as EKG, spirometry, immunizations, phlebotomy, and dressing changes.
• Handle patient communications regarding prescriptions and test results per protocol.
• Document all patient interactions in the EMR and scheduleTesting/consultations with clear instructions.
• Maintain and sanitize equipment, monitor inventory, and ensure safety and compliance.
