Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is seeking an LPN for a Full Time position in Virginia. The role involves delivering high-quality acute psychiatric evaluation, crisis stabilization, and short-term treatment to children and adolescents and their families.

  • Understanding of mental health psychiatric diagnosis, trauma-informed care, and treatments.

Hiring Range: Starting Pay from $55,438 - $76,505 per year

Job Duties

The LPN provides high quality acute psychiatric evaluation, crisis stabilization, and intensive short-term treatment that empowers children and their families to make developmentally appropriate choices and that strengthens children’s hope, resilience, and self-esteem.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities esp to include medication management
  • Ability to implement nursing care plan and provide guidance to Psychiatric Care Techs as necessary
  • Computer skills and ability to document without error in the Electronic Health Record required
  • Skilled at communicating with a young patient population with special needs
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels across treatment teams and within nursing department
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental health psychiatric diagnosis, trauma-informed care, and treatments
