Job summary

Warren Center in Warren, RI seeks a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants. You will coordinate doctor visits when needed and document all care in the medical records.

Lead the day-to-day unit activities, ensure safety, and administer medications as ordered, while maintaining strong relationships with staff across departments.

Qualifications

• LPN with active RI license in good standing.
• Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking and comprehension.
• Ability to make independent clinical decisions when needed.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, facility regulations and guidelines.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care: feeding, bathing, dressing, ambulation, and supervising meals.
• Arrange doctor visits when care needs outside the facility arise.
• Meet with residents and families regarding plan of care.
• Document care in residents' medical records accurately.
• Supervise nursing assistants and lead by example.
• Provide leadership to unit/shift nursing staff.
• Complete and file nursing charts and notes clearly.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
• Maintain relationships with inter-departmental staff.
• Monitor safety procedures and supervise subordinate staff.
