Job summary

West Shore Health Center in Warwick, RI is seeking a licensed registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day activities of nursing assistants. This role ensures care in accordance with required standards and regulations at all times.

You will perform nursing assessments, administer medications as prescribed, participate in care planning with the team, and ensure smooth operation of the facility's nursing services

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN or LPN in this state.
• Knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
• Supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and collaborate with the nursing team to develop effective plans of care.
• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with rules and guidelines.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
• Meet with residents or family members and report issues to the Nurse Supervisor.
• Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs and policies for quality care.
