Job summary

Cardiovascular Institute of the South seeks an LPN to provide nursing care in our cardiovascular clinics in Louisiana. You will triage, document, assist with procedures, and support physicians in patient visits.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, coordinating care, and ensuring accurate EMR entries. BLS is required; ACLS is a plus. Join a team-focused environment committed to high-quality heart care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Louisiana.
• BLS certification; ACLS is a plus.
• Experience with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Strong triage, blood draw, injection, and diagnostic testing skills.

• Provide licensed professional nursing care to support cardiovascular physicians and other medical staff.
• Perform triage, documentation, injections, diagnostic support, and coordination of care.
• Maintain and update patient records in paper and/or electronic medical systems.
• Respond to patient needs in clinic and by phone, assisting with procedures and patient education.
• Accurately document vital signs, medications, allergies, and patient concerns to support quality care.
• Support physicians during visits and follow orders including tests and instructions.
• Collaborate with departments through EMR communications to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Assist with Coumadin clinics, blood draws, pacemaker/defibrillator checks, and diagnostic explanations.
• Manage medical forms, insurance pre-certifications, supply ordering, and safety checks.
• Provide cross-coverage and support to other clinics or departments as needed.

About the Role

What Makes You a Great Match

• High school diploma and current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Louisiana.


• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS certification is a plus.
