Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) responsible for donor eligibility determination, adverse event management, laboratory result review, and donor notification. Works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, supporting center operations and EHS compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, physical exam and blood testing.
  • Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions per SOPs.
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
  • Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care.
  • Report findings to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and reference EHS guidance.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations of pandemic threats.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; recognized nursing program graduate with state requirements.
  • Licensed or certified LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Minimum two years clinical or hospital experience.

Hourly Wage Range

$24.32 – $33.44 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, experience and location.
